The Simple Wealth

My name is Yi Hui Chang. I’m a stay-at-home mom with my 3-month-old baby, Maiya, and 4-year-old girl, Katrina. My husband’s name is Michael.

When I was young, I had many higher state moments throughout my teenage years. Naturally I was drawn to spiritual pursuit. I joined Ananda Marga when I was in the university, and practiced yoga and meditation for a few years. I was given a spiritual name, Abha, by which my friends call me still . Then I left. I joined another group, the Fellowship of Friends, funded in the United States while I was in Taiwan, which applied Ouspensky’s system, “the fourth way”, a western intellectual approach towards one’s higher self. I was a member for about 10 years until 2007.

As someone like me who has practiced spiritual pursuit both in eastern and western methods for so many years, that’s why I described my blog as ” the simple ways to wealth with mindful living”. I was in one kind of form or the other for many years, and now I’m in the formless way and happy as I am. Traditionally or modernly, Guru or Teacher places no importance on his disciple or student’s financial life. Money is the most ignored topic in the spiritual path, even though donations are maybe required or encouraged.

At this point of my journey, I see my life in whole, and practice mindful living in all areas of my life. I feel very confidently that wealth can be achieved with mindful living, and joy, beauty and abundance exist here and now.

When I was in Taiwan, I loved Martha Stewart’s TV shows. I was a teacher in Taiwan and was trained here in California as an upscale florist and did many formal events for two years in the Fellowship of Friends. I do enjoy beauty. Since I became Mom I watched a lot of TV on food channel, now I’m a very good chef at home. I love reading and learning. I love internet.
