Save Money and Live A Rich Life
I started to have a lot of fun doing grocery shopping game, if you have not read my previous posts: I made $1 by buying 2 boxes of Hair Color in Walgreens and I made $2 buying 4 boxes of cereal bars in Walgreens, you should take a look.
This morning as I was getting my coupons ready to shop in Walgreens, I was browsing some of my favorite blogs and came across Being Frugal Is Fabulous, she mentioned about buying 4 bags of Hershey’s Bliss chocolates, which is on sale for 2 for $4 this week, to get $5 rebates. Thanks to her, I was planning on buying 2 bags, I would have missed out $5 rebate.
Price labels do not always reflect current sale
I notice price labels on the shelves do not always reflect current sale. For example, in this weekly Walgreens ad, Comfort-Stretch Jumbo Pack diapers are on sale: Buy 1 at $7.99 Get 1 50% off, but the price label I saw in the store said $8.99 and no mentioning of 2nd pack 50% off. So it’s important to know what sale prices are in weekly ad, they should overwrite shelve labels.
What I bought today in Walgreens:
2 Jumbo packs Walgreens diapers= $7.99 +$3.99 minus $5 Easy Saver coupon=$6.98 (You can grab a Easy Saver Catalog after you enter Walgreens.) 9 cents per diaper.
4 bags of Bliss chocolates=$12 minus 2 $2 Easy Saver coupons minus 4 $1 printable coupons=$4 (You can print coupons from my side bar.) Plus get $5 rebate, so I make $1 on these, again, thanks to Being Frugal Is Fabulous.
1 Scott 4-roll bath tissue=$1.99 with in-ad coupon. The shelf price label is $4.29.
2 3M Magic tape=$1. The shelf price is $1.59.
1 Pert Plus Shampoo=$3.79 minus $2 coupon from 8/03 Sunday paper=$1.79 Plus get $3.79 rebate (Easy Saver Catalog Rebate#7) So I make $2 on this.
1 kitchen utensil=$0.99
The total before coupons=$36.23. The total after the coupons=$18.38. The amount of rebates to be submitted =$8.79. Actual cost for everything in the photo is $9.59.
