The Simple Wealth

Being a mother with infant-age child again gives me a lot of joy. Maiya is such a good baby. She rarely cries. She smiles and gigles. She naps a lot. She looks at you with such innocence, with pure being. I call her ” xiao bao bei” ( little baby, little treasure) all the time. This morning, after she heard me call her sister ” xiao bao bei”, Katrina said to me,” don’t call me Katrina if you love me.”

” Then what should I call you?” asked I.

She didn’t say.

“Xiao bao bei?” asked I. She smiled.

“How about da bao bei?”(big baby, big treasure) She laughed.
